STREAM It Up! Project Face-to-Face Training Stage Ended with an Enthusiastical Ceremony

The Closing Ceremony of the Face-to-Face Training Stage of the “STREAM It Up!” Project, which was prepared under the leadership of Manisa Celal Bayar University and the STEM Educators Association, with Manisa Provincial Directorate of National Education and Şanlıurfa Provincial Directorate of National Education as stakeholders, supported by the United States Embassy, was held at MCBU Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.

Besides Governor Yaşar Karadeniz, AK Party Manisa Deputy Semra Kaplan Kıvırcık, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Selçuk Yıldırım, Manisa Celal Bayar University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ataç, United States Embassy Education Attaché Roger F. Cohen, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Advisor Nursel Ustamehmetoğlu, Yunusemre Deputy Mayor Şule Uygur, Provincial Deputy Director of National Education Abdullah Ölmez, Project Team, Project Trainers and science ambassador students from 81 provinces attended the Closing Ceremony.

The ceremony started with a stand in silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by the display of a clip prepared for the “STREAM It Up!” Project, and speeches by Ankara Science Ambassador Noyan Doğangün and Bilecik Science Ambassador Mehmet Serhat Aktaş on behalf of science ambassador students from 81 provinces.

Roger F. Cohen, Education Attache at the United States Embassy, said: “My colleagues and I at the US Embassy’s public diplomacy section are proud of the “STREAM It Up!” project. It is a pleasure to see the project completed with great success.”

Stating that they are very happy to host science ambassadors from 81 provinces, Rector Ataç said, “After a long and selective interview, the first stage our students faced was an intensive English education. Then the online STEM stage, which is a multidisciplinary education, started. Our third stage included interviews with foreign and Turkish scientists and entrepreneurs, all experts in their fields. In our fourth and final stage, we realized face-to-face technical and theoretical STEM Training and cultural and historical excursions.” He stated that the project has reached the closing stage. Also, Ataç said to the science ambassadors: “I wish that the outputs of the training you received will be beneficial.”

AK Party Manisa MP Semra Kaplan Kıvırcık congratulated all the students who participated in the project and said, “We believe and trust you, our bright students. I wish you to reap the rewards of the seeds planted here today with the idea that your horizons will expand with this education you have received.”

After the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to those who contributed to the project and the presentation of Certificates of Participation to the Science Ambassadors, the ceremony ended with a group photo session.
